    171533 - Music Together

Toddlers learn by watching, playing and experimenting. Just imagine how much they could learn in a music class where children participate at their own levels-singing, moving, listening, observing, and exploring musical instruments in a welcoming and supportive environment. Child development researchers have found that grouping together children of varying ages fosters natural, family-style learning. Our mixed-age class allows children to grow musically while interacting socially with their peers. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because their children can go to class together.

And any or all of your child’s caregivers (parents, grandparents, nannies, etc.) can come share in the experience, both in class and at home. The whole family is welcome!

    271502 - Happiness Is 2

Whether this is your first camp experience or you’re a veteran of our programs, Happiness Is 2 is a fantastic fit for you and your children. While safety is our primary concern, our mature and responsible staff will get those little balls of energy moving, laughing, and having a great time. Campers will participate in a wide array of creative arts and craft projects, imaginative games, exciting sports, outdoor nature fun, water days, special events, dress-up days, and so much more! Every week will also feature a specific theme in which many of the activities will be tailored. The days will go by so fast they won’t want to leave!

Once a week campers will meet at Tower Rd. beach for a day filled with fun in the sun. Groups will remain together and rotate through various stations set up throughout the beach. Staff will stand approximately knee-deep in the water and create a small semi-circle facing the shoreline where all children must remain inside. In addition, extra lifeguards will be on staff patrolling the beach watching over those tiny fish splashing around.

There will also be special guest appearances from a magician and storytellers, and we’ll even take a few excursions to secure and enclosed locations (e.g. Pump It Up).

Campers staying all day must bring a sack lunch and water every day. There is no access to a refrigerator or microwave.

271503 - Camp Almost Anything Goes

Almost Anything Goes is the next step in the Winnetka Park District’s camp experiences. At AAG, campers will get the opportunity to experiment in just about everything. They’ll have an exciting capture-the-flag game outside, a thrilling round of dodgeball in the gym, get absolutely drenched during a water activity, and dabble in their creative side with an art project—and that’s all just in one day!

Your kids will have a blast with the various theme days and weeks, playing games, trying sports and crafting projects. AAG will venture to Tower Road Beach every Friday for a day filled with fun in the sun. In addition to beach days, campers will be whisked away on an enjoyable excursion every Tuesday (except the first week). A variety of locations include: water parks, Legoland, and Pinstripes. Excursions are all-day events; children who have enrolled for AM-only need to stay for the duration of the trip and those that have chosen PM-only need to arrive at 9:00 am for departure. There are no additional fees for these days.

Almost Anything Goes truly combines what the summer is all about: spending time inside and out doing a vast assortment of fun and unique activities with your friends.

Campers must bring a sack lunch and water every day. There is no access to a refrigerator or microwave. You will be notified beforehand of any excursions which provide lunch.

Children enrolled in Adventures in Learning are also welcomed to partake in Almost Anything Goes! All you need to do is register for our afternoon session which begins immediately after AiL each day. On normal days, a WPD staff member will pick up your child from Washburne at 12:00 pm and walk them over to Skokie School. On beach days, a bus will transport your child between camps to the beach. On excursion days, however, parents must choose which camp they’ll be attending since the activities are all-day events, and there is no alternate form of transportation. If your child is attending both Adventures in Learning and Camp Almost Anything Goes, please note this in your emergency form. We also have an option for those interested in having their child at camp all day after AiL for eight weeks. This option includes five (5) weeks of afternoons only coupled with three (3) weeks of all day camp which starts upon AIL's conclusion.

    271504 - Middle School Madness

Middle School Madness combines all the best aspects of summer into one enjoyably fun package. Not only will kids love spending time at Tower Road Beach twice a week, but they will also venture on two excursions each week. MSM typically goes to one water park (e.g. Barefoot Bay, Rainbow Falls) and an additional venue (e.g. Medieval Times, Main Event, Action Territory) every week. In addition to the two beach days and two excursions, the fifth day will be spent participating in a wide range of activities at our own Park District facilities including turf sports and games, tennis, crafts, and whatever else campers and staff may come up with on any given day. The most wonderful facet about this age group is their capabilities to create and perform more complex activities. Our staff will guide, encourage and help lead campers in a gratifying summer filled with laughs, entertainment and energy.

Campers must bring a sack lunch and water every day. There is no access to a refrigerator, but a microwave is available for use on non-beach and trip days. You will be notified beforehand of any excursions which provide lunch.

Even though both sessions offer comparable experiences, we encourage everyone to sign up for the full eight weeks because each session provides a diverse set of programs at alternate destinations. This is an exciting camp for parents who want their children busily occupied with a combination of activities over the course of the summer.

    271506 - Adventure Camp

Register your child for the Winnetka Park District’s very popular Adventure Camp and prepare them for a fun and active summer. At Adventure Camp, teamwork and cooperation are vital to the success of camp. Counselors interact closely with campers to facilitate a fun and positive environment while stressing team-building and safety at all times.

Each week typically consists of at least a day at a beach, excursions to a water park and an additional location, and an active sports day. Possible activities for each session include kayaking, Stand-up paddleboarding, archery, trips to indoor venues housing things like arcades, trampolines, mini golf, and laser tag; trips to the Zoo; or afternoons spent at our own Park District facilities like the tennis center and golf course. In an age filled with digital screens, we make every effort to keep kids outdoors and as busy as possible to limit these distractions. Campers will also need a bike as we travel to many of our destinations, including surrounding lakefronts and parks, by bike.

Campers must bring a sack lunch and water every day—there is no access to a refrigerator or microwave. You will be notified beforehand of any excursions which provide lunch.

While both sessions offer similar experiences, we encourage everyone to sign up for all eight weeks as each session will include different activities at a multitude of varying locations. This camp has a very limited registration and will fill quickly.

    271507 - Counselors-in-Training

The Counselors-in-Training program gives participants an experience working with children alongside other young adults in a setting for which many find familiar. While many of the kids looking to be CiTs have knowledge and experience working with children, being a counselor is very different than babysitting! CiTs will gain valuable knowledge and experience the levels of responsibility and challenges required to be a camp counselor. Not only that, but they get to have fun; as they lead, join in, and play games/activities/crafts with the campers. It’s not all work!

The first two days of camp are absolutely critical and cannot be missed. This mandatory orientation for both camp sites will run from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Elder Lane Beach House (not their specific camp site). We will cover responsibilities and expectations as a counselor, children’s games, safety, dealing with children who might be having a rough day, and more. Basic CPR and first aid will also be taught during this time, but CiTs will not be CPR certified. After these initial days, each CiT will be placed with a counselor and camper group at their designated camp site to continue on-site training. At the end of the program each CiT will be evaluated by the camp director.

Each specific camp site has a very limited number of spaces available (this number may flex based on enrollment) to ensure the best possible program for your child and our campers.

CiTs may sign up for only one session; however, once they have successfully completed the Counselor-in-Training program, they are eligible to register as a junior counselor.

    271715 - IBA'S MVP Summer Camp

This week-long high quality baseball and football program teaches fundamentals, offensive and defensive philosophy, team building and sportsmanship. A typical day is divided between baseball and football with special attention paid to grouping based on age and ability.

In addition to working with campers on their baseball and football skills, our coaching staff (former Northwestern football players and current high school or college baseball coaches) will oversee games, contests and tournaments designed to teach kids how to compete in healthy ways, while learning the value of commitment and teamwork.

Our goal is to send ‘em home tired and inspired! A camp T-shirt will be provided.

271716 - Illinois Baseball Academy Mini Majors Summer League

This four-week program has been designed for players who will have just completed their Mini-Majors “All-Star” season this spring. The objective of the Mini-Majors Summer League is to help young players further develop their baseball skills while at the same time increasing their understanding of the rules of the game. To ensure all participants have a positive experience, trained IBA coaches will oversee a weekly one-hour session featuring both drills as well as a game where players can showcase what they are learning.

IBA coaches will be responsible for pitching and emphasizing a pace of play that is both brisk and engaging. Players will play a variety of positions and learn how to anticipate and respond to baseball situations that will become common place moving forward.

For questions contact Trey Frahler with Illinois Baseball Academy at trey@illinoisbaseballacademy.com.

271717 - Chicago White Sox Baseball Summer Camp

If you want to be the best, you’ve got to train with the best! Since 1994, more than 50,000 youth baseball players have attended one of our White Sox summer camps to focus on essential individual baseball skills. Professional coaches from the White Sox organization have programs designed for kids at every ability level.

Our “Little Sluggers” program introduces boys and girls to the game. Our intermediate camp includes fun games to build fundamental skills in throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching and base- running. The advanced camp will build on the basics taught in our younger camps to take the game to the next level. Depending on the skill level, this camp will touch on advanced hitting and throwing techniques, as well as team play, advanced base running and other techniques.

Every camper participates in the exclusive U.S. Cellular Field experience! This opportunity of a lifetime for each camp participant and a guest includes a parade on the field and a Q&A session with a White Sox personality and a current White Sox player.

During the camp, each player will participate in a special Skills Competition. The Top 40 qualifiers in each age throughout the summer will compete in the finals on U.S Cellular Field in September.

Each camper will also receive six (6) White Sox ticket vouchers (some restrictions apply), summer camp t-shirt, evaluation report and graduation certificate.
